The Vinci
The industrious Vinci people are masters of metal, steam, and clockwork. They rely on their ingenuity and practicality to realize their ambitions. Unfortunately, much of their striving is directed inward—the Vinci city states are, at best, a loosely connected affiliation of uneasy alliances. At worst, they are a network of bitter enemies, unified only their methods of destruction. Although they share a common heritage, the Vinci provinces have their own unique flavors that set them apart from each other.
The lands of the Vinci are divided up into 13 provinces, all of whom have traded and warred upon each other at various times in the past. At the moment, the two most powerful factions are the province of Miana and the province of Venucci. Venucci is ruled by the Doge, a ruthless, power-hungry commander bent on subjugating the entire Vinci people. The Province of Miana was previously ruled by Petruzzo Giamba, who was recently murdered by the Doge. His younger brother, a brilliant inventor named Giacomo, now leads Miana. In addition to seeing to the welfare of his people, Giacomo is bent on getting revenge for Petruzzo’s death. He has vowed to see his bitter enemy, the Doge of Venucci, pay…regardless of the cost.
National Power
The Vinci harness the might of Industrial Devastation as their National Power. Using gigantic bores and drills, these powerful machines rise up from beneath the surface of the earth, churning the ground, and anything unfortunate to be upon it, into dust. Units caught in this powerful attack are knocked down and severely damaged. In order to use Industrial Devastation, a player must first spend Research Points to purchase the Mining track, below.
Technology Tracks
The technology tracks of the Vinci people emphasize their love for both machinery and politics. Centuries of warfare between the city-states have trained the Vinci people well for both diplomacy and battle.
Politics: The Politics technology track increases both your borders and the attrition damage dealt to enemies. It reduces the cost to purchase neutral sites, as well as the damage suffered when you Storm other cities.
Prosperity: The Prosperity technology track allows unites to heal when in friendly territory. It also generates Wealth income.
Scavenge: The Scavenge technology track generates resources (starting with Wealth) from slain friendly and enemy units and reduces enemy attrition effects.
Mining: The Mining technology track enables the National Power of Industrial Devastation and generates a steadily increasing Timonium income.
Cities and Districts
The cities of the Vinci are wonders of technological ingenuity, harnessing the mighty energy of Timonium to create their buildings of steam and clockwork. These towering metal structures bustle day and night with workers, merchants, and soldiers. The Industrial District is unique to the Vinci.
Military District: Military Districts increase the population Cap, create additional Musketeers, and improve the City’s defenses.
Industrial District: Industrial Districts increase Prototype points and speed up building construction and unit creation.
Merchant District: Merchant Districts increase Resource Cap, Caravan capacity, and Trade Route value.
Palace District: Palace Districts increase a City’s size, health, trade value, and border push. They also enhance the effects of other Districts.
